Joy calls Zach "ge ge" (guh guh) which is Chinese for big brother. In Chinese culture, the first born son is the most important person in the family after the parents. Joy may have only spent 5 years in Taiwan, but she certainly knows that Ge Ge is very important!
It doesn't hurt that he has blonde hair and big arms!
Joy was so funny about Zach's facial hair (I hesitate to call it a "beard")! She rubbed her hand on his chin and giggled. Then ran her hand from his chin, all the way up the side of his face and then onto his head, giggling the entire way. Then she screamed something in Chinese and said "ikat, mama!" (look, mama) Then she just sat there and giggled!
Of course, Zach is going to have a huge influence on Joy her entire life. I kinda wish it hadn't started with hand symbols and hats backwards though!
